The healthy environment and sports activities are imperative for extra-curricular activities and for character building and bright future of the students, said Brigadier Muhammad Arif, director, Federal Government Educational Institutions (Cantt Garrison) here on Thursday.
He was addressing the prize distribution of FG Cantt Garrison Inter-School Regional Sports Festival-2004, organised at FG Public Secondary School, Mehfooz Road. The boys schools of Rawalpindi region took active part in the sports festival.
Brigadier Arif said students are future of the nation and teachers are nation builders. It is the responsibility of the teachers to guide the students towards right direction and help them in the process of character building, he said, adding that extra curricular activities are a must for providing better environment to students and helping them in positive mental growth.
He said sports would bring complete discipline in the lives of the students, and hoped that students would show their enthusiasm in the curricular activities as they have shown in the sports activities.
He assured full patronage of the students having sports background.
Earlier, Muhammad Sharif Khan, secretary, Sports Committee and principal, FG Public Secondary School, Mehfooz Road, presented the report of the Sports Committee, saying that the committee is well aware of the fact that without having extra-curricular activities mental growth of students is not possible.
