UK Institute, WEG sign MoU

Breast Cancer Care UK has entered into a strategic alliance with Women's Empowerment Group (WEG) breast cancer awareness campaign to share latest researches and intellectual resources. In this regard, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed with a venture capital for setting up especially women owned fund in Pakistan to strengthen SME.
WEG Executive Director Omer Aftab revealed this while talking to newsmen here on Thursday. He said the European Breast Cancer coalition has also extended support in this regard.
WEG was the first Pakistani non-profit organisation which went global after the registration of its UK chapter as charity in England and Wales. Norway was next on the cards, he added.
Omer said he had identified a number of projects with Royal Institute of International Affairs, World Business Council for Sustainable Development and Centre for Social Studies at London School of Economics on Sustainable Development initiative in Pakistan.
Briefings were given to Head of Western Asia DFID Joy Hutcheon, Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for International Development PM Tom Brake, Director of Women and Equality, Department for Trade & Investment Angela Mason, and Front Bench Spokesman for International Development PM John Barcow, he said.
