German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder will arrive here on October 10 for a two-day official visit for talks with Pakistani leadership on regional and international issues and boosting bilateral trade and economic ties.
He will meet President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. He will open an economic forum with leading entrepreneurs from both countries on Sunday and meet representatives of the civil society for an open discussion later in the afternoon.
The economic forum is organised by the Board of Investment (BoI). Gerhard Schroder will attend a state banquet to be hosted in his honour by President Musharraf on October 10.
"His talks in Pakistan will focus on the bilateral relations and peace and security in South Asia and in Afghanistan in particular," a statement by the German Embassy said.
"Following the visit of President Musharraf to Germany in July last year this visit marks a further deepening of the bilateral relations," it added. An emphasis of the visit is put on intensifying the bilateral economic relations, which is underlined by the high ranking economic delegation accompanying the chancellor and the signing of a financial co-operation agreement, the statement said.
