The visiting delegations of Shoora Council of Yemen, led by the Speaker Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani and Malaysian Senate led by the Speaker Dr Abdul Hamid Pawanteh separately called on Chairman Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro and discussed matters pertaining to the bilateral relations with special reference to the promotion of parliamentary co-operation with Pakistan.
During meeting with the Yemeni delegation, Chairman Senate said that Pakistan and Yemen enjoy very close brotherly relations and there are many commonalties between the two countries.
He underlined the need for more interaction at all levels particularly the visits of parliamentary delegations to further develop bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Speaker Shoora Council of Yemen, Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani said that his country is keen to enhance its relations with Pakistan in all fields.
He said that the visit of his delegation would promote interaction and Parliamentary co-operation between the two countries.
The Chairman Senate hosted lunch in the honour of visiting Malaysian and Yemeni delegations, it was also attended by a number of parliamentarians and senior officials. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs was also present.
During the meeting with Malaysian delegation, the Chairman Senate said that the visit of the delegation would further promote and consolidate existing bilateral relations and parliamentary co-operation.
Pakistan and Malaysia should promote more parliamentary interaction, as frequent exchange of visit would promote understanding between the peoples of the two countries, he said.
The Malaysian Senate Speaker said that the parliamentary diplomacy is playing an important role in the promotion of bilateral relations.
He thanked the Chairman Senate for extending invitation to his delegation to visit Pakistan and providing them an opportunity to exchange views and develop interaction with the parliamentarians of Pakistan.
The parliamentary delegations of Malaysia and Yemen are paying the visit at the invitation of Chairman Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro aimed at enhancing parliamentary co-operation and bringing the brotherly countries closer to each other.
