Sketches of Multan car blast suspects released

Police have issued likely sketches of the culprits responsible for Thursday's car bomb blast killing 40 people and injuring 100, of whom 56 were still in hospital on Saturday.
These sketches were finalised in the light of statements of eye witnesses and owner of the car.
"We have got prepared the sketches of the culprits and announced Rs 10 million head money for each to expedite their arrest. We hope that we would soon reach the killers," said Sikandar Hayat, District Police Officer, Multan, on Saturday.
He said that a case has been registered by Lohari Gate Police.
Six injured persons Aurangzeb (Taunsa), Muhammad Ismail (Jalalpur Pirwala), Mujahid Hussain (Multan), Salimullah (Basti Malook), Muhammad Azam (Shehr Sultan), and Gulzar Ahmed (Lodhran) are in intensive care unit, where condition of Aurangzeb is stated to be precarious.
Police have taken 22 suspects in custody who belong to defunct Tehrik Jafaria Pakistan, Imamia Students Organisation and banned Sipah-i-Muhammad including Shahid Abbas and Ali Taqi Naqvi and these were being interrogated by three special teams of police at a secret place.
DPO Multan neither confirmed nor denied these arrests and said some suspects were taken into custody.
Police and Army are jointly patrolling the city.
Meanwhile, Pakistan People's Party has vehemently condemned the banning of processions, public meetings, demonstrations, protest rallies, camps, describing it an abortive attempt to gag the opposition.
It also condemned the bringing of a bill regarding uniform of General Pervez Musharraf.
Addressing a press conference, Mukhtar Ahmed Awan, Salim-ur-Rehman, Mirza Nazir Baig, and Khalid Hanif Lodhi said that the present regime had failed to maintain law and order, providing protection of life and property to general public and alleged that rulers were employing undemocratic tactics to stay in power.
They also condemned the institution of case against Babur Awan and other PPP workers and sending income tax notice of Rs 20 million to Babur Awan.
Mukhtar said that the present regime was highly terrified with the expertise and ability of Babur because he got acquitted Benazir in SGS reference and got acquitted Asif Zardari in Steel Mills case.
They vehemently condemned the bomb blast in Rashidabad. They demanded immediate arrest of terrorists, withdrawal of cases against PPP workers, ending ban on rallies, and release of Yousaf Raza Gilani, Asif Zardari, and Salahuddin Dogar before Eid-ul-Fitr.
PTCL STRIKE: Workers of Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) on Saturday staged a demo without 'shirts', beating their empty bellies and shouting slogans in support of their demands.
They observed two hours token strike.
