Sindh Agriculture Department is offering wheat seed graders and zero tillage seed drills to farmer at subsidised rates.
According to a spokesman of the department these implements are available at the agriculture engineering workshops of the Directorate of Agriculture Engineering Sindh at Tando Jam, Larkana and Sukkur.
The subsidised price of zero tillage seed drill has been fixed as Rs 26,580 and the price of seed grader and cleaner is Rs 31,675, the spokesman informed.
The zero tillage saves land preparation expenses and seed in planted on the residual moisture in rice and sugarcane fields, he said and added that the seed grader cleans the seed, make it uniform and bold, as a result of which generation is better and weeds are controlled.
According to a survey, the spokesman told that wheat yield per acre from the graded seed could be increased by three to five maunds.
