The management of agriculture produce market has been directed that all illegal market committee check-posts established on main roads of the district should be immediately removed as this practice is not part of the agreement between the market committee and contractors.
District Co-ordinating Officer Muhammad Hussain Syed has given these directives while presiding over a meeting held on Saturday to resolve problems of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said there are growing complaints about illegal collection of market fee from the growers at these check-posts, which should have been collected from the middlemen.
He said the administrative of the market committee failed to provide any relief to growers. He also directed the market officials to evolve a strategy for collecting market fee in a transparent manner.
Earlier, members of the HCC&I levelled serious allegations against officials of the market committee and said that the market committees are virtually plagued with corruption.
