As many as 165,000 subsidised bags of wheat flour would be provided to the consumers costing Rs 190 per bag in Sialkot district under a special Ramazan package.
The Punjab government will provide subsidy of Rs 500,000 to the flour mills of the district, said Sialkot District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Syed Tahir Raza Naqvi while addressing the District Price Control Committee meeting here on Saturday evening.
He informed the meeting that 37 sale centres would be set up in the district for the convenience of the consumers, while 12 fair price shops would also be established in the district, out of which, six would be set up in tehsil Sialkot, and two each at Pasrur, Daska and Sambrial areas for providing commodities of daily-use at reduced rates.
Similarly, with the co-operation of traders, 6 Ramazan bazaars would also be established.
The District Nazim warned that hoarding and profiteering will not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against the violators.
