Police are making all out efforts to curb crime and for getting hold of the culprits, said Attock Police spokesman here on Sunday.
Talking to APP, he said after the bomb blast at a mosque in Sialkot and at a religions gathering in Multan, the security has been beefed up, and special troops have been deployed at mosques, Imambargahs, and other important places. These steps are being taken to avoid any untoward incident, he said.
The spokesman said the police officials have been briefed to hold meetings with the Imams and Khateebs and Imam committees to take necessary steps for maintaining law and order.
During the forthcoming Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, special security arrangements have been made to guard mosques and the Imambargahs, he added.
He said SHOs have been briefed to conduct surprise checks of the places, where police would be deployed to ensure law and order, adding the police will soon start raids at gamblers' dens and other hide outs of the culprits.
All police officials have been strictly advised to make their performance better, and if any breach of security will occur, the officials concerned would be held responsible and face termination.
The spokesman said the police officials have also been briefed to be courteous and people friendly to restore the confidence of the general public in police.
