Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonment boards have received Rs 55 million in the head of property tax in the cantonment areas, while they decided to take the defaulters to task.
According to details the two boards RCB and CCB had announced an amnesty of 15 percent for the defaulters till September 30. Thousands of people living in cantonment area took advantage of the amnesty and deposited more than Rs 55 million.
Chaklala cantonment board, which was recently established has recovered Rs 30 million in the head of property tax while Rawalpindi cantonment board has recovered Rs 26 million.
The high ups of the two boards have decided to take stern action against the defaulters and heavy fine would be imposed on the defaulters.
Meanwhile, the amnesty was given by the government to retired government employees with 100 percent relief in property tax has deprived the two boards from a huge revenue.
