US Stocks: Tuesday's unofficial close

13 Oct, 2004

US stocks slipped Tuesday as investors showed caution ahead of tech bellwether Intel Corp's earnings, while disappointing results from State Street Corp cast a cloud over the banking sector.
However, stocks pulled from session lows as oil prices declined from record levels above $54 per barrel, but was still a major concern for investors.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 13.13 points, or 0.13 percent, at 10,068.34. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 4.98 points, or 0.44 percent, at 1,119.48. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was down 9.35 points, or 0.48 percent, at 1,920.03.
