A five-member trade delegation from the Republic of Mauritius called on Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Tariq Sadiq and held mutual discussion for the promotion of bilateral trade between both the countries.
Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Marday Venkatasamy led the trade delegation.
Venkatasamy said that Mauritius and Pakistan have agreed to establish a joint ministerial working group to boost economic and trade ties between both the countries and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) would be signed to enhance co-operation between the private sectors.
Through another MoU, he said, regular bilateral ties and consultations between the two foreign ministers would help in strengthening political ties between the two countries.
The prime minister of Mauritius would soon visit Islamabad to hold high-level meeting with the president and prime minister of Pakistan to boost bilateral economic and political relations between the two countries.
Tariq Sadiq welcomed the Mauritius trade delegation and said that Pakistan and Mauritius both enjoy strategic locations and can serve as an important gateway of trade and commerce to African, European Union and Central Asian countries.
