14 Oct, 2004

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Senior Vice-President Sohail Lashari has said the great responsibility lies on diplomatic missions in enhancing trade and investment ties, as they not only eliminate misconceptions about their respective countries, but also open up new vistas for business community.
He stated this while addressing a 40-member delegation of 13th and 14th special diplomatic course.
Lashari said that fairs and exhibitions are a fast track to enhance trade and business activities in today's world, and a diplomat can play an important role in this regard.
He urged the visiting diplomats to introduce this culture of fairs and exhibitions in their respective countries, and make this world a global village in true sense.
Briefing the diplomats about Lahore Chamber's role, he said the LCCI is acting as an effective voice of business community in 'policy corridors', and it also issues certificate of origin, visa recommendatory letters, and these services help the business community save much of their time.
The visiting diplomats asked a number of questions about the volume of trade and role of chambers around the globe.
