Flowers show in November

The Horticultural Foundation of Pakistan (HFP) has decided to hold its autumn flowers show a week or so after the Eid-ul-Fitr, next month, sad Foundation Chairman Dr M. Saeed here on Wednesday.
The autumn show main has exhibits of varieties of chrysanthemum and autumn roses, marigolds, tuberoses or some bulbous varieties produced in hot houses.
It will be followed by its most popular fruit show displaying varieties of citrus from oranges, kinnos, fruit or, grapefruit and sweet and bitter lemons, he said, adding growers from Karachi and Hyderabad bring in papaya and other tropical fruits like custard apple (Shareefa) or guavas.
Saeed said the citrus show is proposed from January 14 to 16 at the Jameel Nishtar Auditorium of the Zarai Tarraqiati Bank here, adding it is also open to fruit products manufacturers, honey and mushroom farmers.
The Foundation has this year approached the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) for a helping hand to organise the citrus show and encourage the prominent exporters to visit it, he said.
The Spring Flowers Festival of Roses and other early varieties of summer flora are scheduled for the last week of March next year, said Saeed.
