Vigilance team finds majority of MRW officials absent

14 Oct, 2004

On the directive of Advisor for Excise and Taxation, M A Jalil, a special vigilance team carried out a surprise raid at the offices of Motor Registration Wing (MRW) situated at Civic Centre and checked the staff attendance.
The Advisor had received complaints that officials and subordinate staff of Motor Registration Wing come to their offices late and as a result the people had to face problems and inconvenience and wait for long even for minor matters.
Taking cognisance of these complaints, M A Jalil directed the vigilance team to check the attendance of present and absent employees.
A checking this morning revealed that five out of nine officials and majority of the subordinate staff were absent from duty and long queues of people were waiting for them.
Taking serious notice of this situation, the Advisor warned the staff that today he is taking lenient view of this and not initiating any disciplinary action, but strict action will be taken if they were found absent or coming late to their duties during the second surprise inspection. He said the action would include suspension from service.
