Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi made an opening of 1122 Rescue Ambulance Service here on Thursday. The service, patterned on the pattern of developed countries having facility of wireless system, provides rescue service within 15 minutes of the call received.
The chief minister speaking on the occasion stated that the provincial government while giving a breakthrough of the ambulance project also earlier made free provision of medicines along with other services in emergency in hospitals.
He said through 1122, lot of precious lives could now be saved. "We, while providing emergency medicines, have appointed qualified paramedical staff and specialised doctors in new ambulance facility," he added.
The chief minister disclosed that with Rs 110 million spending, five ambulance stations are already working. "Altogether 28 such stations will be placed in the province," he added.
