The GC University will soon introduce two degree programmes in master of sciences (MS) and bachelor of sciences (BS) in banking and finance in collaboration with the Institute of Bankers of Pakistan and Bank Alfalah.
This was disclosed by GC University Vice Chancellor Dr Asif Iqbal Khan here on Wednesday.
Dr Asif Iqbal said the classes would start in the last week of the current month, and added that that Bank Alfalah would extend financial support, including salary of the staff, While the Institute of Bankers would provide technical information about these course.
The Vice Chancellor further said that after successful completion of the course, the students would be provided internship in Bank Alfalah and other financial institution of the country.
Dr Asif Iqbal said that after successful launching of the MBA and BBA programmes, the GC University had now offered admission in nine regular studies and research programmes in M Phil leading to Ph.D.
The disciplines in which this programme was being launched through evening classes included botany, Arabic, chemistry, physics, Islamic studies, English, Urdu, zoology and Pakistan studies, he added.
Dr Asif Iqbal said that the GC University had also launched a unique programme-master in industrial management - which was second one after Karachi.
This programme had been launched after a thorough study of the requirement of local industry with a view to producing students for middle and higher management in various industries.
