Musharraf will be forced to quit: Qazi

16 Oct, 2004

Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal President and chief of Jamaat-i-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed said on Friday the National Assembly was hostage to Musharraf' s dictates and if he continued to impose his orders on this sacred institution, MMA would walk out of it and would launch a campaign to force him (Musharraf) out of power.
Talking to a private TV channel here, the MMA president said Musharraf got the reins of power by force five years ago and he was destined to be forced out by the same means.
Qazi however, stressed if Musharraf agreed to talk to opposition parties, they (opposition members) would not resort to such acts.
The MMA president said all the opposition parties were united on this particular issue and this was a good omen for the lovers of democracy that rule of dictator would not last long and it would have to be where it was destined to be.
