United States Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca will begin her formal engagements from Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry officials said. Rocca arrived here on Saturday as part of her four-day official tour to discuss hosts of issues with Pakistani leadership.
The officials said she would hold separate talks with Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar on Tuesday and, on the same day, she would also call on President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
Sources said her visit was part of routine consultations to take stock of bilateral relations. She was also likely to travel to some other cities to see the USAID projects.
Despite the primary focus of her visit being bilateral, important regional issues such as the ongoing Indo-Pak peace process, war against terrorism, elections in Afghanistan and situation in Iraq were also likely to figure in discussions between the two sides.
