Due to blockage of bypass connecting to Super Highway hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road suspending the vehicular traffic for more than two hours.
According to eye witnesses, the Traffic police signalled the driver of a Bus No 7996 to stop at bypass, but the driver sped away his vehicle, which made police to chase him.
The Traffic police and the Bhitai Nagar police caught driver Khurshid Ahmed at a petrol pump on the Super Highway, and gave him severe beating, which infuriated other drivers of the passengers transport.
They stranded their vehicles, and closed traffic on the Super Highway. The drivers also closed the traffic on Badin Bus stop and raised slogans against the police.
