Senator Hillary Clinton on Saturday said United States and Pakistan faced several challenges the most significant of them came from the menace of terrorism.
Addressing a large number of Pakistani-Americans and other guests at a reception held in Los Angeles, she commended the role being played by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
She said it was in the US interest to maintain long-term relationship with Pakistan.
Senator Hillary Clinton recalled her meetings with President General Pervez Musharraf, particularly during her last visit to Pakistani and said that "he had made difficult but right choices."
She said Pakistan should be extended all the support it needed fur social uplift of its population human resource development and particularly revamping of its educational system.
The reception was hosted by Rehman Jinnah, a prominent Pakistani businessman and director of Pakistani-American Liaison Center (PALC).
Among others, those attending included Charge d' Affaires Pakistan Embassy, Mohammad Sadiq and Consul General Noor Mohammed Jadmani.
Speaking about philanthropy, Senator Clinton lauded the Aga Khan Foundation's contribution towards social uplift and improvement of educational opportunities for the people of Pakistan.
