60 Indian fishermen with 10 boats arrested

The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) ship, "Rehmat", apprehended 10 Indian fishing boats along with 60 crew members on board on October 16 for fishing illegally in Pakistani waters, a MSA release said on Monday.
The ship was on routine patrol in the eastern maritime region when she found these boats illegally fishing about 52 kilometres inside Pakistan's EEZ.
The Indian fishermen have been warned time and again not to indulge in illegal fishing, but they repeatedly come in our EEZ to explore rich fish resources at the mouth of Indus delta, the release said.
The apprehended fishermen have been handed over to the Docks Police for further legal action.
The MSA apprehended 28 Indian fishing boats along with 175 fishermen during this season started since September 2004. A total of 562 Indian fishermen are in Pakistan custody along with 101 boats, while 13 Pakistani fishing boats along with 102 fishermen were in Indian custody till date, the MSA release said.
