Taiwan's Great Wall Feed Group sealed a private deal on Monday to buy 58,000 T of US corn from Cargill Inc, said a group official.
The cargo was sealed on a C&F basis, for shipment between either December 16-30 from the US Gulf or December 31 to January 14 from the Pacific Northwest, said the official.
The official declined to reveal the price of the shipment, saying only that it was slightly more than that offered by Cargill to the rival Members Feed Industry Group (MFIG) lasts on Friday.
In that tender, MFIG paid Cargill US $146.88 per tonne for 15,235 tonnes of corn, and US $1.6126 per bushel over the Chicago Board of Trade's March contract for 40,765 tonnes.
