Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday asked the parliamentarians to keep strict check and vigilance on the development projects to ensure their timely completion.
He was talking to members of National Assembly belonging to Rawalpindi division here at Prime Minister House.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Minister for Labour and Manpower Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Minister for Environment Maj Tahir Iqbal (Retd), and Minister of State for Environment Malik Amin Aslam Khan were also present on this occasion.
The prime minister said parliamentarians should propose development projects which could generate economic activities and increase job opportunities. He said the elected representatives should ensure development projects be completed without any delay so that the living standard of people could be improved.
The prime minister said parliamentarians should keep close link with the people living in their constituencies to know the problems of the masses. He asked the elected representatives to hold "Open Kutcheries" in their areas to help the people in resolving problems at their door steps.
He said the working of government departments should be monitored for improving the efficiency of these departments, and added that efforts should be made to ensure proper supply of electricity, gas and other basic needs of life.
