Auckland ports profit up

New Zealand's Ports of Auckland Ltd said on Thursday it had traded at expectations in the first quarter but its net profit after tax was slightly higher than the same period last year.
The company, which operates the country's biggest port, said container volumes handled during the quarter were down 2 percent but a four day strike and one-off disruptions in other parts of the world had ore than accounted for the reduction.
