NWFP Minister for Health Inayatullah has ordered commissioning of urology units at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) Peshawar and Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) with immediate effect.
The decision was taken at a high level meeting held with Provincial Minister for Health in the chair, here the other day.
The meeting discussed ways and means for improving urological services in the province and a number of decisions were made on the occasion.
The Health Minister directed the KTH and the HMC's Chief Executives (CEs) to allocate beds for urology unit within their respective institutions. Similarly, he also asked concerned quarters to submit SNE for creation of posts in urology.
Beside creation of another urology unit, appointment of urologists at category-A DHQ hospitals was also proposed on the occasion. Similarly, renaming kidney centre as Frontier Institute of Urology was also proposed.
LRH Chief Executive Dr Abdussamad, KTH CE Dr Changiz Khan, HMC CE Dr Shad Muhammad Khan, Dean PGMI Dr Arshad Javed, Head of Urology Unit LRH Dr Taskeen and Urologists Muhammad Naeem, Dr Attaur Rehman, Dr Asif Malik and Dr Sajjad also attended the meeting.
