Teams asked to step up operation against profiteers

District Nazim Lahore Mian Amer Mahmood directed the specially constituted raiding teams, to continue their operation against the profiteers so as to enable the public to get essential items on cheaper rates.
He also informed while addressing a joint meeting of Price Control Committee and City District Government here on Saturday that out of total allocated quota of 900,000 flour bags, 166,476 bags have so far been sold at subsidised rates at union council level, while 30,000 bags have been dispatched to 50 union councils of District Lahore.
Moreover, while addressing joint meeting of Price Control Committee and City District Government, he asked the officers concerned to take note of the public complaints and ensure their redressal. He said that heavy fines must be imposed on those shopkeepers who are charging beyond the fixed prices.
The meeting was attended by District Co-ordination Officer Khalid Sultan, Nazim Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, Tariq Sana Bajwa, Nazim Ravi Town, Amir Munir, Chairman Market Committee Mian Talat, EDO Revenue Ijaz Ahmad, DO Revenue Malik Muhammad Bakhsh, district food controller, SP security, town municipal officers and other concerned officers.
The District Nazim directed the SP security to ensure police patrolling in Ramazan Bazaars established at various spots in the city. He also directed the DO Solid Waste Management, Rafiq Jatoi to increase the number of waste containers so that cleanliness could be ensured around the mosques.
