Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, Asia's most valuable technology company, said on Monday it planned to more than double its sales in China to $25 billion by 2010 as it targets the fast-growing market.
The world's largest maker of memory chips aimed to lift the proportion of Chinese sales to 25-30 percent by 2010 from 18 percent currently, a spokesman for the South Korean firm quoted Chief Executive Yun Jong-yong as saying on a trip to China.
Yun put the company's sales in China at $12 billion for this year. He did not elaborate on which goods Samsung would focus on in China.
The announcement came after the parent Samsung Group said in early September it would boost sales of electronics to Europe by 25 percent to $20 billion next year, targeting eastern Europe.
