Three Indian army officers killed in helicopter crash

Three Indian army officers have been killed in a helicopter crash in the northern hill state of Uttaranchal, an army spokesman said Saturday.
The charred bodies of Major-General D P Singh, Lieutenant Colonel B. K. Pande and the pilot, Captain Arjun Sardana, were recovered from the high mountains of Manna Pass near the India-China border, the spokesman told the Press Trust of India.
The accident occurred Friday while the officers were on a routine reconnaissance mission, he added.
