Indifferent and callous attitude of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board towards main Misreal Road and its surroundings on Range Road, Nai Abadi of Misreal has resulted in acute problems for the inhabitants of these areas particularly during the Fajr and Taraveeh prayers. Although one-year back the construction work was launched on main Misreal Road, it is still incomplete and causing a lot of hardships for both the motorists and passers-by.
In spite of complaints, the RCB officials have failed to pay any heed towards this important issue, said Mustafa Durrani, a shopkeeper on Misreal Road.
He said: "The road is giving a look of ancient period and it has destroyed our business, as people prefer to remain away from this road." Nazimuddin, a retired government officer living in Nai Abadi, Misreal, told Business Recorder that the streets of Nai Abadi are in a dilapidated condition, and people have received injuries due to ditches as there is no street light in this street.
He said: "Two months back, SCO staff dig the Range Road for installation of telephone cable, and they broke the small culvert on the opening of the street, and from the day one this is in the same condition."
Residents and traders of the area have appealed to the government many times to repair and rebuild the road, but none of the government officials have paid attention to this matter so far because they are busy in denying the responsibility for the maintenance of the road.
