An earthquake shook Northern Areas and Kashmir on Sunday, with no immediate reports of injuries or damage to property, authorities said. The earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale and resulted in two "mild" tremors on Sunday morning, Mehmood Khan, a meteorologist from the Seismological Department told AFP by phone from Peshawar.
A police officer in Gilgit said there had been no reports of loss of life or property.
