Sindh Pifra 'productive site' inaugurated

The Accountant-General, Sindh, Salahuddin, on Monday inaugurated the 14th 'productive' site of the 'Project to improve financial reporting and auditing' (Pifra) which will ensure speedy processing of pay and pension related documents.
The 'pilot site' is located in the Office of the Accountant-General, Sindh.
Salahuddin made the system 'productive' by pressing a button, and payroll of all government employees at Karachi was generated on 'new accounting model' (NAM).
The New Accounting Model SAP-R/3 Accountant General Sindh is the 14th productive site of Pifra. Before the formal inauguration of Pifra, a workshop on 'Change Management' was organised in which AG Sindh highlighted the benefits of Pifra and said that innovations and adoption of various techniques should be made a matter of routine in the department.
The Pifra system will ensure prompt processing of claims improved monitoring of budget activities, transparent and timely reports, good governance, and improved decision making better cash forecasting system and facilitate system based audit and high level of accountability, he said.
The AG appreciated the steps being taken for improvement of accounting system and its importance for the government in decision making.
