Punjab Minister for Health Dr Tahir Ali Javed has said efforts were being made to raise the standard and quality of emergency wards of all the public sector hospitals of the province at par with European standard and other hospitals of the developed countries.
While addressing the members of a delegation here on Tuesday Javed said medicines and other health facilities would be provided free-of-cost in the emergency wards, in phases, which would have a capable & efficient staff.
He said present government was utilising available resources for the provision of health care facilities to the people.
He said funds would be provided to Jinnah Hospital for purchase of Gamma Camera, Laser Camera & Cobalt so that facility of Bone Scanning could be provided to the cancer patients in the hospital.
Moreover, Director General Health Services Punjab Dr Khalid Mahmood Rana has directed the officers of the department to involve lady health workers to make protective vaccination campaigns a great success.
While presiding over a departmental officers meeting on Expended Programmes on Immunisation here on Tuesday, Khalid said due attention was being paid to the protection of people specially children from various diseases including polio.
