Students convention arrangements reviewed

Punjab University (PU) vice-chancellor Arshad Mahmood chaired a meeting here on Tuesday, to review the arrangements of the Provincial Students Convention to be held in the first week of December at Aiwan-i-Iqbal.
The Higher Education Commission at Islamabad is holding provincial conventions as a part of preparation for the National Students' Convention. The themes of the conventions are "Globalisation: Myth or reality; National integration; role of universities in facing the challenges of rapidly changing world; Jinnah's vision of moderate Pakistan.
Each university, public as well as private may nominate eight students (2 for each theme) for initial selection. University of the Punjab will play the lead role and will also organise an event for initial selection of students. The Punjab University (PU) will convey names of 40 students (10 students for each topic) to the Governor's Secretariat by November 24. The University will conduct final round of selection at Governor House; wherein 12 students will be selected (3 for each theme).
