Hearing of SBP plea adjourned

A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Sheikh Abdul Rashid on Wednesday adjourned the proceedings in an intra court appeal filed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) without fixing next date of hearing.
The SBP has challenged the decision of a single bench of the august court setting aside the notification of the bank whereby all the financial institutions have been asked to submit details of account-holders, who are getting more than Rs 10,000 profit from their accounts.
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) member M.D. Tahir has challenged the decision of the respondent SBP. The petitioner contended that all the financial institutions are bound under the law to keep secret information pertaining to their account-holders.
ELECTION PETITION: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned to November 23, the proceedings in an election petition filed by Sheikh Allahud din challenging the election of Shahid Qayyum as MPA.
Earlier, the court recorded the statement of respondent Shahid Qayyum and directed the petitioner to produce evidence on next date of hearing.
The petitioner prayed to the court to disqualify the respondent from being member assembly.
