04 Nov, 2004

The cotton Crop Assessment Committee will meet at Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) Multan November 6, on Saturday to review the size of the crop presently being picked in Punjab and other parts of the country. According to agriculture ministry sources, the cotton crop in the country this year is very good due to favourable weather conditions.
They hoped that the intervention of Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) would help keep the prices of the raw cotton afloat above Rs 925 per 40 kg mark and lint at Rs 2,159 per maund as the corporation had been allowed to procure cotton to the unlimited limits for export purposes.
