The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Executive Board President and Commander, Five Corps, Lieutenant General Syed Athar Ali, visited the offices of the DHA for the first time on Thursday. He was received by DHA Administrator, Brigadier Maqsood Hussain. Later, he presided over a meeting. During meeting Lieutenant General Syed Athar was given a detailed and analytical briefing on futuristic mega projects launched by the DHA including water front developments, creek city, power and desalination plant and race course ground projects.
Appreciating the DHA, he directed the housing authority to ensure world class standards and quality in execution of all their undertakings, and asked the DHA to gear up for meeting the future challenges and to ensure speedy and smooth completion of all the ongoing projects.
Lieutenant General Athar also asked the DHA to bring about tangible improvement in standard of cleanliness and civic services in the area so as to give a rejuvenated outlook to DHA in an aesthetically vibrant environment.
He also gave important strategic directions aimed at ensuring transparency, midcourse corrections and creating conducive environments to attract local and foreign investment for efficient completion of the visionary projects.
Syed Athar desired that spots of natural sand beaches be developed and incorporated in the envisaged water front project to provide international standard exquisite recreational and relaxation facility to the public.
He said that waterfront development project had the potential of changing the complexion of the area, adding the successful completion of the project would usher in a new era of progress, prosperity and economic development in the metropolis.
