SHC summons federal interior, secretary

A division bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sayed Saeed Ashhad and Justice Maqbool Baqer on Thursday ordered personal appearance of federal interior secretary and Sindh home secretary on November 24.
The bench was hearing a constitution petition filed by Jamila Khatoon, challenging alleged illegal detention of her husband Abdul Karim Mehmood who was picked up from his residence on night between June 12-13 2004.
When the petition came up for hearing, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Nadeem Azhar and Additional Advocate General Sindh Sarwar Khan appeared.
DAG submitted replies from the federal agencies in which arrest, detention was denied and expressed ignorance regarding whereabouts of the alleged detainee.
They are human beings and how come they disappear without leaving any trace or trail, observed the bench summoning both the Federal Interior Secretary and Sindh Home Secretary to appear in person before the bench on November 24.
The same bench hearing another identical petition filed by Khatmunnisa challenging illegal detention of her son Maulana Hidayatullah ordered that efforts for finding whereabouts of missing person shall continue.
The court also ordered fixing of this petition with Jamila Khatoon's case on November 24.
