The city police have announced traffic arrangement for Friday when Youm-e-Ali (RA) procession would be taken out from Nishtar Park here which after marching through its traditional routes would culminate at the Husanian Iranian Imambara. According to the plan, a procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park in connection with Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (AS).
The entire route from Nishtar Park to Sir Sahahnawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, M.A. Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, again M.A. Jinnah Road, Boltan Market, Rampat Rai Road, Nawab Mahabat Khan Jee Road to Hussainian Iranian Imambara. The entire route will remain closed for vehicular traffic as long as the procession continues.
Arrangements have been made to divert the traffic to other roads and lanes have been made. Barriers will be erected and heavy traffic police will be posted at all such point from where the traffic would be diverted.
People are advised to take alternative routes and avoid traffic congestion by simply ignoring traffic directions.
The police official said the police, Rangers, and para-military force had been detailed to provide safety to processionists and places of religious places, adding to ward off any act of terrorism plain clothes police and intelligence staff have been deployed.
In view of a recent act of firing at a mosque in North Nazimabad in which one person died and two persons were injured, the concern have been shown by the management of some Imambarghas and mosques about the frequent lapses in police security arrangements.
