A newly-elected official of the Pakistan's Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has said he will oppose any political move by the lawyers' community during his tenure in office. SCBA Finance Secretary Arshad Ali Chaudhry told newsmen here on Thursday that he will concentrate his efforts on the advancement of the Code of Ethics in his profession and welfare of the entire lawyers community.
He said with the passage of the law on the wearing of uniform by the President by the two houses of the parliament, the controversy should come to a rest.
Arshad Ali Chaudhry, however, said he will support moves for the rule of law in the country as well as the Bar association, but oppose the involvement in the political controversies.
The SCBA, he said, "enough on its plate" to work for the improvement in judicial system and also its professional community.
