Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that a project to construct labour colonies near industrial estates in Punjab have commenced. While chairing a meeting here Friday, he dilated that under a programme, facilities in sectors such as health, education and housing were being provided.
He said that labour colonies would be established in industrial estates of Sundar, Faisalabad and Multan. 'Model schools are being established to provide education to the children of workers', he added.
In order to provide health facilities to workers Punjab Social Security Health Company has been established in the Province.
Secretary Labour Shah Nawaz Badr on the occasion averred that under instructions of the CM Punjab, construction of hospitals for labourers in Sialkot, Shahdara, Gujrat, Manga, Raiwind, Sheikupura, Muzaffargarh, Bhagtanwala, Chakwal and Dera Ghazi Khan has begin. 'Number of beds have been increased in existing hospitals for labourers in the province', he added.
