"The Deputy Secretary will discuss with officials a wide range of issues, including bilateral relations, regional matters, global war on terrorism, and support for Iraq's reconstruction and transition to democracy," the US State Department website said.
Armitage will hold official talks with Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar and will call on Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri.
He is the first senior US official to visit Pakistan after the US presidential elections.
He is also to visit India and Afghanistan, diplomatic sources said.
