HEC invites applications for scholarships abroad

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced awarding of scholarships in foreign high learning institutions for the teachers of public sector universities. According to a statement, HEC has invited applications for scholarships abroad under the scheme entitled MS/MPhil leading to Ph.D. scholarships in engineering, natural and basic sciences, humanities and social sciences for the teachers of newly established or less developed public sector universities of the country.
The applications have been invited from full time teachers working on regular basis in the fields of Basic/Natural/Physical and Engineering Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities and Technology.
The scholarships would be awarded for MS/MPhil studies leading to Ph.D. at reputed universities of Germany, France and Austria. Number of seats earmarked for each of the selected universities has already been communicated to the Vice Chancellors of the respective university and is also available on HEC website.
The HEC has further announced that the applicants would compete on intra university basis.
The universities which have been selected for the scholarships awards are Hazara University Dodhial, Mansehra, Gomal University D.I Khan, Kohat University of Science and Technology, Kohat, Karakoram International University, Gilgit, University of Malakand, Chakdara, Dir, Malakand, University of AJK, Muzaffarabad, Quaid-e-Azam University of Engg & Sciences & Technology, Nawabshah, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, Government College University, Faisalabad, Islamia University, Bahawalpur, University of Sargodha, University of Balochistan, Quetta, Balochistan University of Engg and Technology, Khuzdar, Balochistan and University of IT and Management Sciences, Quetta.
The eligibility criteria set by the HEC for the scholarships include that the applicant must be Pakistani or AJK National being full time teachers working or regular basis at the respective universities and he or she must be 40 years by age. The applicants have been asked to submit their applications before December 31.
