Business community has urged the US government to lift all economic sanctions and provide direct free market access to Pakistani exporters, especially in the textile and garment sectors.
Trade leader and former president Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik told APP here on Sunday that President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz always attached great importance for developing further the cordial relations with the USA.
"Pakistan is an emerging market, rich in investment opportunities for US investment," he said, adding, "direct access to US market will help to strengthen economic ties between the private sectors of both countries."
"South Asia is becoming hub of international economic activities," he said and urged President Bush to exercise his sphere of influence to help settle down all disputes in the region, especially Kashmir and Palestine issues.
