Ukraine boosts grain exports

Ukraine's grain exports rose to 1.485 million tonnes in September from 778,900 tonnes in August and 217,600 tonnes in July, analysts said on Tuesday. ProAgro agriculture consultancies said in a statement that the ex-Soviet state had exported 498,600 tonnes of wheat, 927,100 tonnes of barley in September.
In August, Ukraine exported 227,100 tonnes of wheat and 480,000 tonnes of barley. ProAgro said Ukraine exported a total of 2.48 million tonnes of grain in the first three months of the 2004/05 July-June season. Ukraine exported 2.795 million tonnes of various grains in the 2003/04 July-June season and about 10.7 million tonnes of grain a season earlier.
