The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has launched a countrywide exercise to identify positions at the collectorates of customs for which officers use maximum influence and resource for postings. Sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the CBR has decided not to post an official on a specific position for more than three years to end the monopoly of certain quarters on specific positions. In this connection, the CBR has issued instructions to all the collectors of customs.
According to the directive, each collector should identify particular desk/position, which is prone to 'Sifarish' internal and external influence for posting on these positions. The collectors must take corrective measures to end this practice at the collectorates.
No official should remain posted at one place for more than three years, if possible, the CBR said.
All the collectors of customs should submit the report by December 31.
