The poisonous liquor victims are reported to have been treated by giving them oral doses of alcohol known as 'Dry Gin' as antidote. Some doctor on condition of anonymity said that after giving doses of dry gin the conditions of the victims have started showing signs of improvement. According to sources following the number of death due to use of contraband liquor, the district and police administration contacted the Murree Brewery and the alcohol experts reported to have suggested dry gin as antidote. To save the lives of liquor victims, wine shops have been opened and gin has been supplied to hospital.
Meanwhile, the excise department conducted raids at village Jatoi and arrested two persons for manufacturing contraband alcohol and recovers 2,330 liquor bottles and equipment. In another raids at Mud Fort, Hyderabad police confiscated 100-liter contraband alcohol and arrested two persons.
