Course for Punjabi teachers initiated

Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture (PILAC), which has recently been established by the Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, has initiated first time four-month course titled "History and heritage" for the teachers of Punjabi language and literature of government colleges. Punjab Information Secretary Culture and Youth Affairs, Taimur Azmat Usman inaugurated the course here on Thursday.
Taimur observed that this institution would play an important role for the promotion and preservation of their culture and language, which were being ignored for a long time. He stressed upon the participants to attend the course whole-heartedly and made it a successful.
A guest from Canada, Jay Taigh Singh Aanant Gee praised chief minister for establishing such an institution. The course would continue up to March 26, 2005, and more than two dozens professors of Punjabi from the local colleges are attending the course.
