Consumers to pay for KESC fault

20 Nov, 2004

Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) might earn additional millions of rupees by supplying consumer bills just a day before the payment date. Thousands of KESC consumers were found in queues requesting banks not to close their windows till accepting their bills. The KESC bill department has provided bills on Friday November 19 with the due date as November 20. Both the payment dates have less banking timing than the normal timing.
The consumers might have to pay millions in addition to the cost of electricity consumption because of late payment surcharge.
Though it was KESC's fault but the consumers would have to pay the cost.
