Rahimyar Khan police have arrested greengrocer Abdul Latif and preserved the remaining cauliflower from laboratory test. While Aziz-ur-Rehman was shifted to Medical unit from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because his condition is now out of danger. People of the area have appealed to agriculture department to prohibit the selling of pesticide sprayed vegetable immediately and these must be come to the market after six to seven days and consumers must be educated to use the vegetables after properly washing with water.
It may be recalled that three member of a family have died and another eleven became unconscious after taking poisonous food in Rajanpur Khurd (Rahimyar Khan) on Wednesday.
"All the victims recovering rapidly while Aziz-ur-Rehman (20) who was in critical condition is now normal, while Hanifan Bibi (50), her son Habib-ur-Rehman and a grandson Laeeq-ur-Rehman (8) died before getting any medical aid," Shaikh Zaid Bin Sultan Hospital, Rahimyar Khan authorities told on Friday. Qari Abdul Rehman, head of family now in better condition, told newsmen that he had purchased cauliflower from a local greengrocer Abdul Latif and cooked and took it on Wednesday.
Thirty minutes after taking it, entire family started vomiting. Then all the 14 members of a family were shifted to hospital by the neighbourers because they all were unconscious. Three of them Hanifan, Laeeq and Habib-ur-Rehman died in hospital.
